Importance of Hajj and Umrah - Two Pilgrimages, One Destiny
While we speak of two modes of pilgrimage, destiny and, what
is more important, the purpose is the same. In this way, to understand the importance
of Hajj and Umrah is to understand that there are two options to highlight the
intrinsic faith that each Muslim carries within.
Hajj: every year, millions of Muslims from all over the
world dress in white and undertake their pilgrimage to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia,
there to carry out the rituals that have their origin in the time of Abraham.
The importance of the major pilgrimage or Hajj, is that it is considered one of
the five pillars that make up the Islamic faith. That is why Muslims are required
to make this pilgrimage if they are in the right conditions for it, which
implies being in good physical condition and having the means to pay for it.
